Hello.

I am a computer scientist with more than 7 years of experience in data science and artificial intelligence. I obtained my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from the University of Southampton. I am currently an Assistant Professor at the College of Computer and Information Sciences (CCIS), King Saud University. My spark is in RDI (Research, Development and Innovation), and I find it amusing to get ideas in the production line, and that's where my focus is.

I am interested in data science, web science and network science, I call them the collaborative sciences. I have worked on many projects in the intersection of the aforementioned sciences such as studying the spread of information on social networks, ranking content retrieved from social media and analysing location-based data.

I am a strong believer in the efficacy of getting one's hand dirty, I spend most of my time experimenting with data science and AI techniques. I have extensive practical experience in the data science pipeline and in developing machine learning models. I find it intriguing to pull good ol' computational thinking tricks to solve problems in the real-world, I truly enjoy AI problem formulation and ML problem modelling, both are artistic on their own sense! I am also interested in the ethical aspects of Artificial Intelligence and in developing interpretable machine learning models and explainable AI (XAI). I have gotten my self into way too deep discussions about AI as a science and an art, flipping all cards on the table as to: can a machine think? What does it mean to have a thinking machine? What is "thinking" after all?
